It reflects text-similarity comparisons, not an official government mapping — there is no statutory correspondence table. “Carried over” means the BNS text closely mirrors the old IPC text; “close match” means the provision moved with more substantive change; “no close match” means the offence was dropped, split, or newly created. Always confirm the applicable section against the bare Act before filing or advising, and remember the date of the offence decides which code applies: pre-1 July 2024 conduct is charged under the IPC regardless of when the case is heard.
